The Sooke River Hotel, Sooke River Road, 1976. Identification: The original building, which stood on top of the hill, was called the Sooke Harbour Hotel and late the Belvedere Hotel and burned down in 1934. The Sooke River Hotel was originally The Stable and Riding Academy for the Belvedere Hotel, and when it burnt down was converted to a new hotel, and was operated as a hotel and beer parlour.
