Land-clearing, Sooke River area, circa 1934. Identification: Fred Milne (on right) clearing land in the Sooke River area, probably near the Flats. They left a beautiful stand of trees as a shelter for the picnic tables and cooking area. The saw is a Wee McGregor dragsaw used for cutting blocks of wood for wood stove. It was not a logging tool. The power saw came much later and early models were not much lighter than the Wee McGregor.
